What’s included

How big will my website be?

  1. up to 5 pages for a completely bespoke website; OR

  2. up to 10 pages for a website that uses a template as the base,

however much we get through in the 8 hour time limit of the Website VIP Day.

These page limits do not include a page for a privacy policy, website terms and conditions, or a website disclaimer page, though these three pages will be very minimally styled and no custom coding will be applied to them.

There is a limit on the number of blogs, podcasts and events that I will upload as part of this service

That is, I will upload up to 15 blogs, up to 15 podcasts, and up to 15 events as part of this service. After that, you will be provided with a video that shows you how to upload any additional blogs, podcasts and events that you would like to include.

What’s excluded

Branding

A website VIP does not include me creating any branding for you.

At a minimum, you will need to give me:

  1. Your logo/s

  2. Your branding colours (hex codes)

  3. A browser icon, which is a small image logo which is 200 px by 200 px - it appears in the browser tab of your new website

  4. A social sharing image, which is an image that is 1200 wide x 630 pixels high. When someone shares something from your website online, this is the image that will show up

  5. At least one very good quality image of you (more is better)

  6. A selection of imagery (at least 10 images) that we can use on the website.

Your website will be even better if you can give me:

  1. A branding guide;

  2. What fonts you use, and the webfont files.

More is more, from a branding perspective. That is, the more on-brand imagery you can give me, the more clarity about fonts, the more photos of you etc - the more I can do to make your website look fantastic. I can only work with what you give me.

Purchasing the webfont files is your responsiblity.

Purchasing the website backend (in Squarespace) and the domain name is your responsibility

In order to get the benefit of any custom coding that I can do on your behalf, you will need to purchase the Squarespace Business Plan ($300 AUD) at a minimum.

If you haven’t purchased a domain name yet, please save us all a lot of hassle and go through GoDaddy. Their integration with Squarespace is excellent, and will make it much quicker for you to Go Live.

other terms/ things to be aware of

What happens if I don’t get all of my content uploaded in time?

Then either:

  1. the day will go ahead with the content that you do have. I can’t be very flexible on this point - I work limited hours, and your day is 8 hours that I can’t immediately fill with other client work.

  2. If you’re not happy for the day to go ahead with the content that you have, then a rebooking fee of $2,500 will apply. That is, we can reschedule your day, but only once the rebooking fee is paid.

I can’t be clear enough on this point: it takes, on average, four times longer than you think it will take to create your content. So do not book a Website VIP day for a big website unless you already have the bulk of your content created, or unless it is, say, 2 months away from now.

What happens if we run out of time to wordsmith the entirety of the content that you have uploaded?

Then we run out of time.

In a Website VIP Day we prioritise getting a functional website up and running. The finessing is a nice-to-have, which is why it is scheduled last in the day.

If you find my insights on your content to be particularly helpful, then you can feel free to book in some additional hours with me where we can keep doing that positioning work together.

It takes a little while for Squarespace to generate a SSL Certificate once we hook up your domain

What this means is that we will Go Live, but if you attempt to go to the site, it may say that hackers are attempting to impersonate someone and steal your data. They aren’t. The SSL certificate just hasn’t generated yet. This normally takes between 24 - 48 hours, at which point that alarming message will go away. So you will have Gone Live, but you may not want to tell anyone about that until the certificate has generated.

What happens if I (Anna) need to reschedule for some reason?

Firstly, I’m really sorry if that happens. It hasn’t before, but I’m writing this because I’m sure there will come a day when that does happen.

Assuming I (or one of my immediate family) is not overcome with some hideous illness, then I will work with you to find the next nearest day that suits you for me to build your website. That may be on a weekend if you’re happy with that. I will also gift you a further 2 hours of my time for you to take up at a later date, whether that’s for positioning services or website edits that you’d like at some point in the future.
